Reports To: General Manager Status: Exempt / Full-time

JOB SUMMARY

The Director of Public Safety is responsible for Easton’s physical security and emergency management plans. This individual oversees and manages the development, implementation, and updating of security plans, policies, guidelines, directives, and emergency preparedness programs as they relate to Easton. The Director of Public Safety sets the tone for a proactive, professional, and service-forward department culture consistent with Easton’s guest experience and brand standards. Investigates criminally related activities, acting as a liaison with local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies. This individual will deliver security expertise for the oversight and continuous improvement of the overall security program in support of safeguarding Easton’s critical assets – people, structures, products, operations, and

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Direct, coordinate and manage security operations to ensure the protection of assets and self-initiate course of actions necessary to develop timely mitigation plans.

Reinforce consistent disciplinary standards and high-performance expectations across all shifts

Develop and deliver preventative, protective, and response programs to protect against financial loss, sabotage, crimes against persons, threats, emergencies, and other security-related outcomes that may impact profitability and brand

Actively monitor security operational risks and security trends to anticipate and identify risks, threats and vulnerabilities

Maintain an active view of the operational landscape, conducting risk assessments and threat analysis with subsequent defined courses of action based upon business criticality

Lead the design, development, and implementation of the property-wide security systems to reduce risk and respond when incidents occur; Continually develop the expertise of the organization, inclusive of succession planning

Advise on the implementation and maintenance of all security-related company policies, standards, guidelines, processes, procedures, and plans; Ensure coordination with relevant stakeholders and director partners to enforce compliance with polices and standards to help ensure consistent application of security across the property

Adapt a comprehensive security learning/training curriculum and security awareness program for appropriate delivery

Deliver risk-appropriate briefings, in-depth reporting, or advisories to leadership and project teams based on an analysis of open source and security-related intelligence

Maintain daily and other periodic measurements for efficient and effective security program delivery

Ensure all site security-related technologies and system requirements are operable for proactive and reactive programming while co-designing the system with other company programs, inclusive of CCTV, intrusion detection, access control, fire and life safety systems, perimeter security analytics, and other security mitigation measures

Regularly assess the security program to identify gaps or opportunities in standard work within the security program or across interdependencies with director partners to define alternative approaches to maintain a positive employee work experience

Liaise between the organization and security-specific industry forums to have an in-depth understanding of security operations and ensure the delivery of a comprehensive industry-standard security program, offering inclusive of a well-developed network of Columbus area's public and private sector counterparts

Liaise between the organization and local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies; Attend local and statewide public / private meetings

Lead and instruct the development, training, and implementation of security-related emergency management processes; Engages during any crisis, threat assessment, or other security-related event or program carried out at the property

Responsible for all parking systems, deployment, and enforcement. This includes functionality and reporting of parking meters/kiosks, RL/GL, LPR, and future parking advancements.

Oversees the full cycle of Easton’s Preferred Parking program, including technology integration (LPR, RL/GL, kiosks), employee compliance, enforcement procedures, and guest experience impacts.

Responsible for security program reviews budget/schedule prioritization; Manage the security budget for the property with responsibility for short- and long-term capital planning

Perform other duties as apparent or assigned by the General Manager.

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily

Bachelor’s degree or higher; plus, a minimum of eight (8) years’ leadership experience in security or law enforcement

Demonstrated experience working in successful team development and management, and in the implementation of new programs and approaches

A growth-minded approach, with interest in leading, teaching, and mentoring

Ability to work independently and utilize independent judgement

Ability to maintain strict confidentiality, to interface with diverse constituency, and to represent the property with integrity and professionalism

The ability to navigate challenging situations with the utmost professional demeanor

Demonstrated ability to accomplish goals and objectives within established priorities and timeframes

Proficiency with Microsoft Office and a high level of comfort with Microsoft Excel

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. This job will require being out on property, either walking or driving, for regularly scheduled property reviews, and in a professional office environment. The individual will be an integral member of the Operations Team and will be expected to interact with all departments, tenants, and vendors; support all programs by other departments; and participate in staff meetings.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Occasional travel is expected for this position.
