Shop Helper

New Orleans, LA: Flexicrew Technical Services (FTS) is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Shop Helper to support our production operations. This role is a blend of Welder/Fitter Assistant, Quality Assurance, and Warehouse duties. The ideal candidate should be hands-on, safety-conscious, and capable of reading blueprints and work instructions.

Essential Duties:

· Assist welders and fitters with preparation of materials and tools

· Inspect parts and components for defects or quality issues before release to production

· Use measuring tools such as calipers, tape measures, and gauges

· Keep detailed QA checklists and documentation

· Pull parts and materials based on job travelers or production needs

· Use forklifts, pallet jacks, or hand carts safely

Requirements/Skills:

· Ability to read and understand blueprints and basic schematics

· Familiarity with common measuring tools and inspection practices

· Prior experience assisting in welding/fitting and warehouse settings preferred

· Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality

· Able to lift up to 50 lbs and work on feet throughout shift

· Willingness to follow instructions and work as part of a team

Physical Requirements:

· Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds frequently; occasionally up to 75 pounds with assistance

· Ability to stand, walk, and work on feet for extended periods (8+ hours per shift)

Education:

· High school diploma or GED
