Job Description

Step into a vital role with Column Technical Services and be part of a team that keeps healthcare operations running smoothly from behind the scenes. You’ll help ensure that essential medical supplies, equipment, and medications are delivered with accuracy and care—making a real impact on patient outcomes. This role offers hands-on experience in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment where attention to detail and a sense of responsibility are highly valued.

This role supports both supply chain operations and facility readiness across all company’s clinical and non-clinical areas. The individual will be responsible for ordering, maintaining, and distributing appropriate levels of medical supplies, equipment, and linens to meet established par levels across inpatient and outpatient settings. In collaboration with clinical and administrative leaders, the role helps select appropriate materials and supports optimal, cost-efficient patient care. Coordination with vendors and internal support teams (e.g., Plant Operations, Facilities Management, Safety, Environmental Services) ensures that all assigned areas—from nurse servers to consultation rooms—remain well-stocked, orderly, and aligned with institutional standards.

Supply Management Duties:

Conduct regular inventory counts to assess current stock and place supply orders via inventory systems (e.g., Helios).

Manage both routine and ad hoc supply orders, responding quickly to out-of-stock items, identifying overstock situations, and escalating critical shortages.

Track frequently used items and suggest updates to par levels in partnership with leadership.

Accurately document all orders, including quantities, expense codes, and return authorizations where applicable.

Identify opportunities for cost savings and make recommendations to management.

Distribution Responsibilities:

Deliver and restock all supplies and patient charge items promptly and according to storage protocols and department timelines.

Utilize proper delivery methods and storage techniques, including item rotation and prioritization.

Replenish carts and patient care stations, including medication rooms, supply closets, and treatment areas.

Distribute and safely store medications and FDA-approved items following department guidelines.

When entering patient-occupied rooms, introduce oneself and ensure professionalism and courtesy.

Refill linen and supplies in patient servers as required.

Required Skills & Experience:

Open to all experience levels; candidates with no experience should be reviewed with leadership.

Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Ability to work in temperature-sensitive environments (e.g., cold storage areas for Food and Nutrition).

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in a healthcare or clinical setting is desirable.

Education:

Minimum: High School Diploma or GED.

Preferred: Bachelor’s degree.Company Description
