General Job Description
The QC Supervisor at Dogwood Industries is a hands-on leader responsible for providing on-the-floor supervision and guidance to the Quality Inspectors and ensuring production work meets Dogwood's quality expectations. This role plays a critical part in maintaining high manufacturing standards and upholding a strong quality-first culture across fabrication, assembly, and all production activities. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, ethical, and thrives in a fast-paced, custom manufacturing environment. This person works closely with Production, Engineering, Design, and Projects teams to ensure inspections are effective, quality issues are addressed promptly, and processes are being followed and continuously improved.
Duties & Responsibilities
Supervise and support the day-to-day activities of Quality Inspectors at assigned factory
Oversee in-process and final inspections to ensure work conforms to internal standards and customer requirements
Maintain accurate inspection records, including weld maps, NCRs, and other required documentation
Partner with Production to troubleshoot quality issues and drive root cause analysis and corrective actions
Support third-party inspectors, customer visits, and internal quality audits with direction from the Quality Manager
Promote a high standard of quality and professionalism across inspection activities
Monitor and report on key quality metrics and escalate recurring issues to leadership
Assist in the development and implementation of standardized inspection processes and scalable quality control procedures
Train and mentor new inspectors, ensuring consistent inspection techniques and understanding of quality expectations
Support the qualification and certification process for welders and inspectors in collaboration with the CWI
Ensure a clean, organized, and safe inspection work environment

Requirements
Experience in quality control within steel fabrication or industrial manufacturing
Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess issues rationally and make informed decisions
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
High level of integrity and ethical decision-making
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and quality control documentation systems
Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
Preferred Qualification
Versed in AWS D1.1/D1.2 and drawing standards
Ensure consistent compliance with AWS D1.1/D1.2, AISC, customer requirements, and Dogwood's internal quality standards
Experience developing and maintaining quality management systems (QMS)
Experience working in an ERP/MRP system
Physical Requirements/Work Environment
This position requires moderate physical activity in a manufacturing and office environment. To perform the essential functions of this job, the employee is frequently seated at a computer desk, is utilizing a phone, and participating in meetings with colleagues. Walking extended distances from location to location in the factory complex and meeting with people in noisy or congested areas will be a common occurrence. The employee must be able to reach overhead, able to work in various positions, including, but not limited to, stooping, standing, bending over, sitting, kneeling, squatting; use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance for extended periods of time. Be able to lift, pull and push material and equipment to complete assigned job tasks. Be able to lift 40 pounds of weight throughout assigned workday if required. The employee will be exposed to shop elements such as noise, dust, fumes, and odors.
Compensation
$40.00 to $48.00, Depending on experience and qualifications.

Location
This is an onsite position is based out of the Dogwood Everett Factory Office at 3200 35th Ave NE, Everett, WA 98201. There may be travel to the Dogwood Sedro-Woolley, WA Factory as needed.
