CNC Machinist

Job Description

Volt is immediately hiring CNC Machinist for a local leading Manufacturing Company in Poway Ca.

As a CNC Machinist you will:

Set up and operate manual and CNC machines (lathes and mills)

Program and edit CNC machine operations to meet part specs

Read and interpret technical drawings and documentation

Choose and install appropriate tools, fixtures, and materials

Build tools, jigs, dies, and molds used in manufacturing

Machine precise parts from various materials like metal and plastic

Inspect parts to ensure they meet required tolerances

Use measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, etc.) for accuracy checks

Follow safety and environmental procedures

Suggest ways to reduce cost, waste, and rework

Perform finishing tasks such as deburring and painting

Move and pack parts for further processing or inspection

Help troubleshoot and repair shop equipment as needed

Keep the work area clean and organized

Collaborate with teammates to solve machining or assembly issuesThis is a Full-Time temp-to-hire Opportunity

The ideal candidate will have:

Requires a high school education or equivalent (GED)

Requires a minimum of 3-6 years of machine shop experience, including CNC and conventional machines

Experience with ProtoTRAK machines is highly preferred

Understands tool selection, order of machining operations for efficiency, feed rates, etc

Skilled at using measurement and inspection equipment to verify parts specifications and dimensions.

Ability to read, analyze and interpret engineering documentation, technical specifications and manufacturing documentation and drawings.

Ability to use shop mathematics, drawings and measuring tools.

Proficient knowledge of tooling and efficient machining practices.

Strong mechanical aptitude.

Understanding of 7S and Lean Manufacturing is a plus.

Working knowledge of MS Office programs (Word, Excel and Outlook)

U.S. Person for access to ITAR-Controlled Technical Data. ITAR regulations dictate that information and material pertaining to defense and military related technologies may only be shared with US Persons unless authorization from the Department of State is received or a special exemption is usedSchedule: Monday to Friday 1:30pm-10pm

Pay Rate: $25/hr plus overtime as needed.

*Pay Rate offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
