Role Overview We are seeking a candidate to build and manage the silicon photonics technology team, collaborating with SerDes, photonics/IC design, system leads, partners, and vendors on product and supply chain development involving co-package optics (CPO). Expertise in silicon and packaging process development, DTCO, PIC Optical Testing, SI, technology and product bring-up, fiber integration, HVM supply chain development, and qualification is required.
Strong relationships with optical supply chain partners and active face-to-face engagement are essential.
Candidate Profile The ideal candidate has excellent communication skills, is a skilled manager, team player, and problem solver.
They have a proven track record of cross-organizational collaboration, driving complex programs to success, and developing cutting-edge technologies in ambiguous, multi-partner environments.
Key Responsibilities Build and manage the Photonics technology team to enable CPO.
Qualifications 20+ years' experience in optoelectronic hardware and silicon-package development, bringing products to market, with strong knowledge in photonics devices, PIC silicon, packaging processes, fiber integration, and supply chain management.
Experience with CPO is mandatory.
Experience working with third-party vendors, foundries, and OSAT to transition CPO from concept to high-volume manufacturing.
Proficiency with photonics simulation tools (e.g., Lumerical, Cadence, Synopsys, Ansys) and mechanical/thermal design knowledge is a plus.
15+ years' experience in photonics product and process development and deployment, with excellent DFM knowledge and manufacturing experience in Asia and North America.
Lab skills including design of experiments, optical characterization, data analysis, and familiarity with tools like Keysight, SEM, FIB, X-ray.
Ph.D.
in Physics, Electrical Engineering, or related field with 15+ years of relevant post-college experience; consideration given to 20+ years with a Master's degree.
Location US or Taiwan.
