As a Mechanical Engineer in our Critical Infrastructure team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the success of our AWS Data Centers by providing full life-cycle support from design inception to maintenance and improvement.
Your responsibilities include:
Reviewing designs and equipment submissions for new Data Centers.
Troubleshooting issues and conducting Root Cause Analysis (RCA) with corrective actions documented.
Providing direct support for operational issues and delivering ad-hoc training for complex procedures.
Owning design upgrades to existing Data Centers to enhance capacity, efficiency, and availability.
Leading audits and producing reports that outline risks with recommendations for mitigation.
Acting as the resident engineer during new construction projects to oversee construction, commissioning, and turnover.
You will collaborate with a diverse team of engineers, specialists, and managers across AWS to ensure our infrastructure operates at the highest standards of safety and efficiency. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to work locally and globally on concurrent projects.
Your ideal qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
Strong engineering judgment with the ability to make recommendations in uncertain situations.
Detail-oriented with a data-driven approach to problem-solving and project management.
Experience in building relationships with various stakeholders within operations and engineering teams.
Willingness to engage in both office and field work.
