Job Description
A Fort Worth-based construction company is seeking a Senior Accountant for a contract assignment with potential to convert to a full-time role. This position plays a critical role in supporting job-costing accuracy, financial reporting, and overall accounting operations in a fast-paced, project-driven environment.Key Responsibilities:
Lead the month-end close process including journal entries and account reconciliations
Perform job costing and project-level financial tracking to ensure accuracy and profitability
Analyze financial statements and trends; prepare reporting packages for leadership review
Oversee general ledger activities and assist with AP/AR processes as needed
Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
Maintain compliance with GAAP and ensure proper documentation for audits
Assist with internal process improvements and policy documentation
Use Advanced Excel (pivot tables, formulas, VLOOKUPs) for financial modeling and reporting
Collaborate cross-functionally with project teams and managementQualifications:
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
Minimum of 3+ years’ experience in a Senior Accountant or similar role
Experience with job costing and project-based accounting
Strong understanding of general ledger, close processes, and financial reporting
Advanced Excel skills
Detail-oriented with strong organizational and communication skills
Preferred:
CPA or CPA candidate
Experience in the construction industry
Familiarity with financial audits and internal controls
Hands-on experience with ERP/accounting software
Pay Details: $38.00 to $46.00 per hour
