Full-Stack Developer / IT Specialist

CannaBuddy is seeking a Full-Stack Developer / IT Specialist to assist with the maintenance of our technology infrastructure and to lead application development that supports our business operations. Your primary responsibilities will include application development and maintenance, managing our network, servers, and software systems, ensuring data security and compliance, and providing technical support to our staff. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of IT best practices, a proven track record of hands-on LAMP stack development, and experience providing support for hardware systems. Your problem solving skills and organizational skills allow you to adeptly navigate the complex world of information technology and ecommerce.

Key Responsibilities

Website and WordPress CMS Management

Maintain and update WordPress websites across production, staging, and development environments.

Perform regular plugin, core, and theme updates; manage plugin subscriptions and renewals.

Implement and test template updates; ensure design consistency and functionality post-deployment.

Manage content backups and version control.

Build and maintain custom applications using a variety of technologies such as Angular, Apache, APIs, CSS, HTML, JavaScript, Linux, MySQL, Node.js, PHP, React, SQL, Vue.js, and Webhooks.

Security & Performance

Implement and maintain website security best practices (firewalls, malware scanning, SSL, etc.).

Perform audits of WordPress installations and server environments for vulnerabilities.

Implement and maintain CDN, caching, and other performance tools.

Software & Internal Systems Support

Provide support for internal software and systems used by staff.

Help troubleshoot application-level issues or liaise with vendors as needed.

Hardware & Retail Systems Support

Maintain internal hardware (computers, printers, peripherals).

Support Point of Sale (POS) systems and electronics used in retail operations.

Handle hardware diagnostics, repairs, and replacement coordination.

Required Skills & Experience

Excellent troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.

Strong experience with WordPress (customization, maintenance, performance tuning).

Proficiency with modern web technologies such as Angular, Apache, APIs, CSS, HTML, JavaScript, Linux, MySQL, Node.js, PHP, React, SQL, Vue.js, and Webhooks.

Experience with cPanel, WHM, and Apache web server environments.

Familiarity with Linux server management and CLI tools.

Understanding of web security best practices.

Basic knowledge of local networking and retail POS hardware support.

Familiarity with Agile workflows and deployment strategies such as CI (continuous integration.)

Work Environment

Multifaceted role supporting both online infrastructure and physical office/retail operations.

Occasional on-site hardware troubleshooting may be required.

Occasional travel to retail locations may be required
