Laboratory Supervisor

Job Description

General Summary: Responsible for oversight and supervision of laboratory operations, including workflow, teammate performance, policy adherence, and service quality. Ensuring compliance with procedures, developing and mentoring teammates, and managing staffing, schedules, and training. Serves as a technical supervisor and a key leader in delivering accurate, reliable patient results.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide direction, oversight, and training to laboratory teammates

Monitor department performance against goals and implement process improvements

Handle staffing, performance reviews, promotions, discipline, and competency assessments

Develop and maintain policies and procedures to assure service, safety, and compliance

Foster a strong, collaborative team culture and resolve operational issues

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or related field

FL Supervisor license in Chemistry

ASCP or AMT certification

6-8 years of experience in a Medical Technologist/Supervisor role
