Senior System Architect
Location: Houston TX
Pay Rate: $150,000-$175,000
BASIC PURPOSE OF POSITION:
The senior system Architect will be responsible for designing and overseeing the
implementation of complex system architectures in both on-premises and Azure Cloud
environments that enhance operational efficiency and support strategic initiatives. This role
involves collaborating closely with various stakeholders, including IT teams, business units, and
external vendors, to ensure that our systems meet current and future needs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop and maintain high-level architecture designs for systems and applications,
ensuring alignment with business goals and technical requirements.
Create and enforce architectural standards, guidelines, and best practices to ensure
consistency and quality across the organization.
Design and oversee the integration of various systems and technologies to ensure
seamless data flow and operational efficiency.
Collaborate with development teams and vendors to implement and assess system
integrations, ensuring compatibility and performance.
Evaluate emerging technologies and industry trends to recommend solutions that
enhance system capabilities and support business innovation.
Assess current systems and architectures to identify areas for improvement and
optimization.
Work closely with business leaders, project managers, and IT teams to understand
requirements and translate them into effective architectural solutions.
Provide guidance and support during the implementation phase to ensure successful
deployment and integration of systems.
Develop and maintain comprehensive architectural documentation, including system
diagrams, design specifications, and integration plans.
Prepare and present reports on architectural designs, project status, and system
performance to management.
Provide procedures and supporting documentation relating to SOX 404: Management
of Internal IT Controls
Identify potential risks and issues related to system architecture and integration and
develop mitigation strategies to address them.
Ensure that system designs adhere to security, compliance, and regulatory
requirements.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives by assessing and refining architectural
practices and methodologies.
Foster a culture of innovation and excellence within the architecture team and across
the organization.
POSITION SPECIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a
related field. Advanced degrees or relevant certifications are a plus.
Minimum of 7 years of experience in system architecture, with extensive experience in
the oil and gas industry preferred.
Proven experience in designing and implementing complex system architectures,
including cloud-based solutions, enterprise systems, and integration frameworks.
Strong understanding of system integration methodologies, data management, and IT
infrastructure.
Experience with architectural modeling tools and frameworks.
Familiarity with relevant technologies and platforms (e.g., Azure, SCADA systems).
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage
and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
Demonstrated leadership and mentoring capabilities, with a focus on fostering
teamwork and professional growth.
