Job Description
A leading organization in the food manufacturing sector is seeking an experienced and strategic
Vice President of Quality Assurance. This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for driving enterprise-wide quality systems, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement across internal manufacturing, contract partners, and distribution networks.
This role is ideal for a quality executive with deep experience in BRC food safety standards,
thermal steam processing, and proven success in implementing proactive quality assurance models in a regulated, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the development and deployment of quality assurance strategies, policies, and systems across all manufacturing and supply chain operations
Oversee internal quality, third-party manufacturing compliance, and distribution center inspections
Drive the transition from Quality Control (QC) to a proactive Quality Assurance (QA) approach
Collaborate with R&D on new product development to ensure proper checkpoints and testing protocols
Manage root cause analysis, corrective/preventive actions, and audit readiness
Lead enterprise-wide continuous improvement initiatives including Lean and Hoshin Kanri
Implement quality metrics and KPIs to improve product quality and customer satisfaction
Oversee internal auditing processes and the material review board
Manage departmental budgets and develop talent through training and mentoring
Qualifications
Minimum of 7 years in senior-level Quality Management
At least 10 years of experience in lean manufacturing and operational excellence
Extensive knowledge of BRC (British Retail Consortium) Food Safety Standards
Hands-on experience with thermal steam processing and other food safety validation methods
Demonstrated expertise in both Quality Assurance and Quality Control
Strong background in Six Sigma methodologies (DOE, FMEA, ANOVA, process characterization)
Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing tools such as 5S, value stream mapping, Kanban, and poka-yoke
Proven success in leading plant transformation and change management
Exceptional communication, leadership, and cross-functional collaboration skills
Education and Certifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, Business, or related field (required)
Master's degree in Quality Systems, Business, or Engineering (preferred)
Professional certifications in Lean, Six Sigma, or Project Management (preferred)
