Front-End Engineer – Machine Learning Platform (Contract)

Location: San Jose / San Francisco, CA (Open to remote, but preference for onsite)

About the Role:

We are looking for a passionate and talented Front-End Engineer to join a high-impact Search & Discovery team. In this role, you'll be instrumental in designing and developing modern web applications that support a wide range of machine learning lifecycle workflows. You'll work closely with data scientists, engineers, product managers, and designers to build scalable, fault-tolerant, and user-centric solutions that drive impactful product experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

Architect, design, and develop modern web applications that support ML workflows and internal evaluation tools.

Collaborate with data scientists and engineers to implement robust, scalable, and reusable front-end components.

Work closely with product managers and UX designers to bring new features to life.

Optimize web applications for maximum speed, responsiveness, and scalability.

Rapidly prototype features and iterate based on user feedback and testing.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, React JS, CSS, and HTML5.

Strong track record of delivering clean, efficient, and maintainable UIs—both simple and complex.

Solid experience working with web services, microservices, and RESTful APIs.

Familiarity with Java and Spring Boot back-end technologies.

Experience with both relational (RDBMS) and NoSQL databases.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative mindset.

Experience with SaaS products in the ML or data science domain is a plus.

Education & Experience:

BS or MS in Computer Science or a related technical field.

2–5 years of industry experience in front-end or full-stack web development.
