Job Title: Machinist
Job Description
As a machinist, you will be responsible for setting up and operating CNC lathes and mills to perform machining operations on a variety of metallic and non-metallic parts. This includes tasks such as turning, boring, threading, and facing. You will work according to specifications, tooling instructions, and your knowledge of machining procedures. You will read prints and factory work orders to ensure that all operations adhere to dimensions and tolerances, feed rates, cutting speeds, depth of cuts, and tool requirements.
Responsibilities
Set up and operate CNC lathes and mills for machining operations.
Work according to specifications and tooling instructions.
Read prints and factory work orders to adhere to dimensions and tolerances.
Position and secure tooling setups.
Select methods for holding workpieces, including making arbors or jaws.
Adjust controls to set cutting speed and feed rate.
Verify machined workpieces for correct specifications using measuring instruments.
Procure first piece inspection approval.
Maintain cleanliness and lubrication of machines.
Ensure a clean and orderly work area.
Perform duties in accordance with company safety policies.
Report unsafe conditions.Essential Skills
Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints.
Competence in using calipers, micrometers, indicators, and other measuring instruments.
Experience in setup and operation of CNC mills and/or lathes (minimum 1 year).Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with machining, blueprint reading, lathe and mill operations.
Familiarity with CNC programming and setup.
Knowledge of various CNC systems such as Haas, Fanuc, and Mazak.
Experience with inspection processes and shipping/receiving.Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.50/hr.
