Sr. Accountant

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Sr. Accountant to join our team. This long-term contract position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to the financial success of a dynamic organization within the financial services industry. The ideal candidate will play a key role in enhancing operational efficiency, supporting strategic initiatives, and fostering collaboration across the accounting team.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and analyze month-end financial reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with organizational standards.

• Develop financial projections and identify trends to support strategic decision-making.

• Collaborate with senior accountants on projects and daily operations, promoting team growth and efficiency.

• Conduct account reconciliations, including bank and balance sheet reconciliations, to maintain accurate records.

• Utilize tools such as Excel, Workday, and Lawson to streamline reporting processes and ensure data integrity.

• Perform general ledger maintenance and prepare journal entries to support accurate financial documentation.

• Assist in elevating the accounting team's capabilities by encouraging solutions-oriented approaches.

• Generate ad hoc reports to address specific organizational needs and provide actionable insights.

• Train and support team members on reporting queries and software tools to enhance overall productivity.

• Contribute to the continuous improvement of accounting processes and workflows.• Minimum of 7 years of accounting experience, preferably in financial services or a related industry.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas and VBA, to manage and analyze financial data.

• Expertise in account reconciliation, bank reconciliation, and balance sheet reconciliation.

• Strong understanding of general ledger processes and journal entry preparation.

• Familiarity with financial systems such as Workday and Lawson.

• Ability to conduct month-end close procedures and prepare accurate financial reports.

• Demonstrated ability to work independently and take initiative in completing tasks.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to support strategic financial planning.
