Embedded Software Development Engineer

Job Description

Akkodis is seeking an Embedded Software Development Engineer for a Contract job with a client in Irvine CA(Hybrid). This role involves integrating and validating embedded software for implantable devices and ensuring compliance with medical device regulatory standards.

Rate Range: $70/hour to $78/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Embedded Software Development Engineer job responsibilities include:

Evaluate and integrate embedded software and firmware technologies for implantable medical devices.

Ensure all software development activities comply with medical device standards such as IEC 62304, ISO 13485, and FDA regulations.

Develop and execute unit and integration test strategies, including hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) simulations and automated test environments.

Identify and address cybersecurity vulnerabilities and integration risks in acquired technologies.

Work closely with hardware, systems, quality, regulatory, and manufacturing teams to ensure seamless device integration.

Maintain thorough design documentation, traceability, and software development lifecycle (SDLC) artifacts for regulatory submissions.

Desired Qualifications:

B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field.

Minimum of 3 years in software development, including at least 1 year in embedded or application software for medical devices.

Proficiency in C/C++ for microcontroller programming and experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS) and low-power embedded systems.

Demonstrated experience developing mobile or embedded applications in an FDA-regulated or similarly regulated environment.

Pay Details: $70.00 to $78.00 per hour
