South Shore Restaurant is seeking a talented and passionate Sous Chef to support our Executive Chef in delivering exceptional culinary experiences. If you thrive in a high-volume, fast-paced environment and are committed to excellence, we want you on our team!

Restaurant Sous Chef Responsibilities:

Assist the Executive Chef in managing all kitchen operations, ensuring quality and consistency.

Work the line as needed, especially during peak business hours.

Contribute to menu planning, development, and daily specials creation.

Oversee inventory management, minimizing waste and ensuring cost efficiency.

Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation standards at all times.

Monitor food quality, consistency, and safety throughout service.

Support in ordering, inventory tracking, and cost control measures.

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment.

Train and mentor new kitchen staff; foster ongoing development.

Lead and supervise line cooks and prep staff during shifts.

Assist with scheduling, invoice entry, and costing.

Restaurant Sous Chef Skills & Qualifications:

Passion for food, strong work ethic, and self-motivation.

Proven experience in high-volume kitchen environments.

Strong culinary skills with expertise in cooking and banquet preparation.

Demonstrated background in kitchen management and supervisory roles.

Ability to excel in a fast-paced environment while upholding high standards.

Excellent inventory management and cost control abilities.

In-depth knowledge of kitchen operations, food safety, and sanitation.

Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

High attention to detail and consistency.

Spanish communication skills are a plus.
