JOB SUMMARY:
We are looking for a creative and detail-oriented Software IU/UX Designer to join our small, dynamic technology team within an NBA basketball organization. In this unique role, you will be responsible for gathering requirements from front office staff, coaches, scouts, and players, and translating those needs into intuitive, innovative user interfaces and reports. Your work will help streamline day-to-day operations and empower decision-making across the organization, giving you the chance to directly impact the game through exceptional design.

This is an ONSITE position requiring working in person a minimum of 4 days per week. Local candidates preferred.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Collaborate closely with basketball operations and analytics teams to gather, analyze, and document user requirements.
Translate complex workflows and data needs into clear, actionable design specifications for software tools and reports.
Design intuitive user interfaces (UI) and user experiences (UX) that enhance usability, efficiency, and engagement for a diverse range of users.
Develop wireframes, mockups, prototypes, and user flows to communicate design concepts and facilitate feedback.
Work hand-in-hand with front-end and back-end developers to ensure seamless implementation of your designs.
Create visually compelling and informative reports and dashboards for data visualization and real-time insights.
Conduct user testing and gather feedback to iterate and improve designs based on real-world usage.
Uphold design best practices, accessibility standards, and consistency across all software products.
Effectively utilize AI as part of daily tasks and integrate AI into software tools and processes.
Balance multiple projects and deadlines within a fast-paced, collaborative team environment.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s Degree in a quantitative field (Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, etc.).
Minimum 2+ years of demonstrated experience as a software designer, UI/UX designer, or similar role, with a portfolio showcasing intuitive and impactful digital products.
Must have flexible availability and be willing to work evenings, weekends and occasional Holidays as required by the NBA schedule.
Must be willing to work onsite a minimum of 4 days per week.
Strong ability to gather and translate user requirements into actionable design solutions.
Proficiency with design and prototyping tools (e.g., Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, InVision, or similar).
Experience designing data-driven dashboards and reports with a focus on clarity and usability.
Solid understanding of user-centered design principles, accessibility, and responsive design.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to present design concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Ability to work independently and as part of a small, cross-functional team.
Passion for sports and enthusiasm for contributing to the success of a professional basketball team.
