Our client is seeking a Data Architect with deep expertise in Microsoft Azure Government Cloud (GCC High / GCCH) and Azure Data Lake technologies to join our enterprise data team. This role focuses on designing secure, scalable, and compliant data architecture within Azure Commercial and Azure Government (GCCH) environments, enabling advanced analytics and decision-making capabilities across mission-critical defense programs.
Key Responsibilities
Design and manage secure, scalable data architectures within Azure Government (GCCH) and Azure Commercial environments
Develop enterprise data lake and data warehouse solutions using Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2, Azure Synapse Analytics, and Azure Databricks
Build and maintain data pipelines and integration workflows using Azure Data Factory (ADF), with a focus on automation, resilience, and monitoring
Lead implementation of data security, privacy, and compliance strategies aligned with DoD, CMMC, FedRAMP, and NIST 800-53 standards
Implement data governance frameworks using Azure Purview, including data cataloging, lineage tracking, and access policies
Provide technical leadership on cloud-native data solutions and advise stakeholders on architecture, security, and performance
Collaborate with cybersecurity, infrastructure, and DevSecOps teams to align data architectures with enterprise standards and mission objectives
Stay current with Microsoft Azure GCCH capabilities, evolving technologies, and government compliance requirements
Musts:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
7+ years of experience in data architecture or engineering roles, with 3+ years in Azure Cloud, including Azure Government Cloud (GCCH)
Expertise in:
Azure Data Factory
Azure Databricks
Azure Purview
Strong data modeling and architecture experience (relational, dimensional, NoSQL)
Deep understanding of data protection, encryption, RBAC, and secure data flows in government cloud environments
Proven experience working in regulated environments with CMMC, FedRAMP, or DoD IL4/IL5 requirements
U.S. Citizenship required
Pluses:
Master’s degree in Data Science, Cloud Architecture, or related field
Microsoft certifications (e.g., Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Azure Security Engineer Associate, Azure Data Engineer Associate)
Experience supporting U.S. defense, intelligence
Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code (e.g., ARM templates, Terraform) and CI/CD in secure cloud environments
