The PSS will proactively supervise the safe and productive manufacturing operation by being a hands-on team leader and properly supporting the administrative activities of the role. He/she directly supervises a staff of 10 to 12 production employees and has responsibility for: adhering to safety policies and procedures; ensuring work is completed efficiently and in accordance with production schedules; communicating expectations to the team ensuring operational accountability; maintaining standards in the areas of housekeeping, SOPs, attendance, and maintenance; responding to personnel, operational, and safety incidents; continuing to up-skill the team (e.g. training, hiring).

The right candidate develops good working conditions and effective personal relations with people at all levels while driving continuous improvements with positive attitude. He/she is a hands-on, high energy individual with strong shop-floor presence who must be a self-starter with a desire to deliver results with accountability in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities:

To include but not limited to

· Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and procedures while ensuring a clean and safe work environment.

· Assume responsibility for productivity goals (output, speed, scrap), product quality and planning/scheduling by making sound trade-off decisions to effectively run the shift.

· Assist with start up, shut down and trouble shooting quality and processing issues of film lines while ensure staff is properly trained to prevent manufacturing errors.

· Maintain a positive attitude and display good work ethic by modeling appropriate behaviors and fostering a culture of employee engagement through empowerment, skill development, training, maintaining individual accountability, conducting performance appraisals, rewarding and disciplining as appropriate while addressing complaints and resolving problems of all team members. The PSS will properly manage the related administrative activities for proper documentation and processing.

· Follow all documented work instructions and coordinate daily work schedules, planning and assign duties to maintain adequate staff for effective performance of activities and response to fluctuating workloads in order to meet production goals

· Facilitate robust communications within and across shifts and with other departmental resources.

· Build and strengthen work team capabilities through training (done personally either formally or informally through equipment troubleshooting situations), coaching, etc. for both technical and soft skills.

· Recommend, facilitate and/or drive continuous improvement initiatives with team members such as visual management, problem solving, 5S towards improving production quality, cost, downtime, processes and procedures.

· Perform other duties as assigned that support the overall objective of the position and the company.

Education and Experience:

· Minimum high school diploma or general education degree (GED). College education a plus.

· Minimum of three years of production experience with extrusion knowledge A Plus. Ability to troubleshoot Production Machinery with a minimum of 1 year in a shift supervisory or team lead capacity.

· Basic math skills and facility with numbers to add, subtract, multiply, divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

· Willingness to learn, take on responsibilities and challenges by being self-motivated, exhibiting a “can do” / “lead by example” attitude and an ability to work both within a team as well as independently.

· Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills combined with ability to interact with and provide guidance to colleagues at all levels.

· Continuous improvement knowledge and experience (weather direct projects and/or six sigma/lean certification).

· Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus

· Proficiency with MS Word and Excel

· Other key skills: attention to detail and thoroughness in completing work tasks, results and dead-line orientation, prioritization & goal setting, time management skills.
