Job Title: Manual Tester

Location: Reston, VA (Hybrid/On-site based on project needs)

Job Type: Full-time / Contract

Experience Level: Mid to Senior (3–7 years)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Manual Tester to join our QA team in Reston, VA. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in manual testing of web and mobile applications, solid understanding of QA methodologies, and the ability to work collaboratively in Agile environments.

Responsibilities:

Develop, document, and execute test cases, test plans, and test scripts.

Perform functional, regression, integration, smoke, and exploratory testing.

Identify, document, and track bugs using tools like JIRA or Bugzilla.

Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and other QA team members to ensure high-quality releases.

Participate in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospective meetings.

Review and analyze system specifications to ensure full coverage.

Validate fixes and perform re-testing to verify defect resolution.

Ensure test environments are set up and maintained appropriately.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

3+ years of experience in manual testing of web or mobile applications.

Strong understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and QA processes.

Proficiency in defect tracking and test management tools like JIRA, TestRail, or HP ALM.

Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.

Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with API testing (Postman, SoapUI).

Basic knowledge of SQL for data validation.

Familiarity with accessibility testing and cross-browser testing.

Exposure to automation tools (like Selenium) is a plus.
