As a Billing Clerk (Data Analyst II), you will play a key role in supporting telecommunications billing and financial reconciliation operations at Los Angeles Air Force Base in El Segundo, CA. With your strong background in commercial billing, customer service, and administrative support, you will collaborate closely with the 61st Communications Squadron (61 CS), the Government Budget Team, and service providers like AT&T and Frontier to ensure billing accuracy and service continuity. Your attention to detail, organization, and dedication to excellence will contribute directly to mission-critical financial and telecommunications operations.
(This Position is Contingent Upon Award of Contract)Key ResponsibilitiesTelecommunications Billing & Financial Reconciliation
Receive and process AT&T and Frontier commercial telephone and internet bills on a daily basis.
Scan, audit, and submit processed bills to the Government Budget Team for monthly review.
Work closely with the 61 CS Budget Office to reconcile billing discrepancies and update financial documentation.
Update and distribute Monthly General Ledger and FY Phone Bill spreadsheets for review and tracking.
Maintain, update, and file Customer Service Requests (CSRs) and service orders from AT&T and Frontier.
Liaison with CAIRS, AT&T, and Frontier for service requests, issue resolution, and billing escalations.Call Detail Record (CDR) & Inquiry Support
Retrieve and provide Call Detail Records (CDRs) upon request for audits, investigations, or telecom usage reviews.
Support internal telecom investigations by verifying and organizing CDR data for secure reporting.Service Ticket Management
Process and manage Remedy or similar ticketing systems (after-hours as required) to resolve telecom-related issues.
Monitor service requests and ensure tickets are documented and resolved in a timely manner.Customer Service & Directory Assistance
Provide high-level customer service support via phone and email, helping users with telecom billing questions and service concerns.
Serve as Base Locator (Operator and Information), assisting with call routing and maintaining accurate contact listings.
Offer general office and help desk support, including scanning, filing, greeting visitors, and responding to inquiries.Administrative & Directory Support
Assist in maintaining the Base Directory, ensuring accurate personnel listings and contact information.
Support conference call operations and coordination as needed.Qualifications & Required Experience
Active DoD Secret Clearance (must be current).
3+ years of experience in telecommunications billing, office administration, or financial reconciliation.
Direct experience processing commercial telecom bills (AT&T, Frontier) and working with Government budget teams.
Skilled in CAIRS, Remedy, Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Strong customer service background with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Detail-oriented with proven ability to identify and correct billing discrepancies.
Experience in office environments with responsibility for records management and ticket resolution.Preferred Skills
Familiarity with Air Force telecommunications systems and billing procedures.
Knowledge of Call Detail Record (CDR) retrieval and analysis.
Understanding of telecommunications financial documentation and ledger tracking.
Experience collaborating with Budget Offices and service vendors.Security Clearance
