We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Electrical Engineer to join our team in Henrico, VA. The ideal candidate will bring 6–8 years of relevant experience in the design and manufacturing of low voltage (LV) switchgear and electrical control panels. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to high-quality engineering solutions and collaborate with cross-functional teams from design through production.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and develop LV switchgear systems, including Motor Control Centers (MCCs), Power Control Centers (PCCs), Databar/Busways, Tap-off boxes, metering, and protection relays.
Create general arrangement drawings, control schematics, and wiring harness layouts based on project requirements.
Perform engineering calculations for components such as busbars and cables.
Ensure that all designs comply with relevant UL standards (e.g., UL 508A, UL 891) and applicable ANSI codes.
Design electrical LV control panels with a focus on safety, reliability, and compliance.
Collaborate with engineering and production teams to review and finalize design packages.
Utilize CAD tools, including AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, and Autodesk Vault, to develop and manage design documentation.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
6–8 years of hands-on experience in LV switchgear and control panel design/manufacturing.
Solid understanding of UL and ANSI standards relevant to LV systems.
Proficiency with AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, and document management using Autodesk Vault.
Experience with wiring practices, control logic, and wire harness design.
Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
Proven ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, production, and QA teams.
