Title: Sr. Embedded Software Engineer
Location: Onsite M-F in Everett, WA
Duration: 6 month contract plus extensions
Pay: $70 - 80/hr

A U.S.-based company that specializes in industrial test, measurement, and diagnostic equipment is looking for Senior Embedded Software Engineers to join their team. This company is known for producing rugged, reliable tools used across a wide range of industries including electrical, industrial, medical, and HVAC.
Objective:
As a Sr. Embedded Firmware Engineer, the qualifying candidate will be part of the Embedded Software team in developing, sustaining, and supporting firmware and platforms for across the company's product line. We are seeking an experienced Sr. Embedded Software Engineer to help in modernizing and securing firmware for products in alignment with the European Union’s Radio Equipment Directive (RED). This role is critical to ensuring the devices meet evolving cybersecurity and interoperability standards for wireless communication
Responsibilities:
Act as an individual contributor developing Embedded Software Programs for Microprocessor programmable systems
Design, implement, test, document and maintain firmware for Embedded Linux platforms
Resolve critical Linux Kernel, Library and other third part CVEs
Resolve critical errors found from secure scanning static analysis tooling
Ability to help upgrade or migrate kernel versions for embedded linux projects
Collaborate with the Validation and systems team for firmware and system verification
Work collaboratively with others to achieve goals
Qualifications:
Able to work on ITAR compliant / Export controlled products
Experience with cross-platform toolchains & build tools including, GCC, Make/CMake, yocto Linux toolchains, as well as container based environments (Docker)
Knowledge of connectivity software and networking with technologies including TCP/IP, BT/BLE, and Wi-fi
Knowledge of best practices associated with Secure Product Design (SPD)
Knowledgeable of Agile-based development process, preferably some flavor of Scrum, on multiple projects.
Comfortable selecting, updating, maintaining or patching 3rd party device drivers to interface with external hardware
