Job Summary: Ownership of all aspects of die manufacturing engineering and the development process for assigned programs with minimal supervision.
Required Qualifications:
Must have a BS in engineering or 5 years of related experience.
Tooling experience required.
Excellent English communication skills, both oral and written.
Excellent organizational skills with dedication to quality.
Knowledge in computer software for Windows, Auto-CAD, or CAD equivalent
Knowledge of IATF16949 and APQP processes
Must be proficient with CAD
Must understand simulation, die process, die design, and buy-off.
Must be willing to work overtime.
Responsibilities:
Preparation of “tooling method plan” packages for quotation of new business proposals on an assigned project.
Provides Tool follow-up for new programs.
Works closely with manufacturing, quality, & production tooling group to ensure die build will meet specific needs.
Maintains tooling progress with vendors to make sure die delivery is on-time & with-in budget.
Receive, review, and disseminate supplier quotation packages.
Basic knowledge of materials and specifications for assigned project.
Knowledge of assigned manufacturing facilities' capabilities and limitations.
Work closely with product design and manufacturing to support DFM&A concerns, including GD&T at both the assembly and detail levels.
Maintain up-to-date:
Quote support documentation.
Current die method plans.
Manufacturing concern issues
Travel to facilities and integrators to support tooling build, buy off, and aid in the integration at the manufacturing facility up to and through program launch.
· Execute Material Reduction Initiatives
· Responsible for development of press set-up documents
· Responsible for working with EHS to ensure all safety protocols are being met/followed
· Competency Level 3 understanding of all advanced processes and interactions as determined by the leadership team
Working Conditions
70% office, 30% plant floor (PPE required)
