GENERAL SUMMARY

First Community Credit Union is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Collections Manager to join our team. This role will assist in managing the collections department, ensuring effective collection practices, and maintaining positive member relationships. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and a commitment to providing excellent service to our members.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist the Collections Manager in overseeing daily operations of the collections department.

Collaborate with team members to establish and implement effective collection strategies.

Monitor accounts for delinquency and initiate appropriate collection actions while adhering to regulatory guidelines.

Manage collateral recovery processes, ensuring compliance and effective execution.

Maintain accurate records of collection activities and produce reports as needed.

Provide training and support to collections staff, fostering a team-oriented environment.

Build and maintain positive relationships with members, addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly and professionally.

Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in collections management.

Requirements:

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, or a related field is preferred.

Previous experience in collections or a related financial service position is required.

Familiarity with Jack Henry Symitar software is preferred but not required.

Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications.
