Position Summary:
Aegis Aerospace is currently seeking a Model-Based Systems Engineer to join our team supporting the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) at Schriever Space Force Base under the IRES contract. This role is key to driving MBSE culture and implementation within a complex engineering environment.
Key Responsibilities:
The candidate will:
Drive the adoption of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) practices across the organization through training, mentoring, and support.
Develop standard work processes and operating procedures for MBSE and system architecture.
Establish formal processes for MBSE integration into program workflows.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure alignment of system design and digital modeling across engineering functions.
Integrate MBSE principles and requirements into digital engineering environments enterprise-wide.
Create and manage system architectures, interfaces, and requirements using SysML or equivalent modeling languages.
Utilize MBSE tools such as Cameo, DOORS, or Rhapsody to develop system models representing structure, behavior, and performance requirements.
Support the technical baseline development and sustainment for Command and Control (C2) and RDT (Research, Development, and Test) operations.
Effectively communicate complex engineering concepts to diverse technical audiences. Minimum Qualifications:
Must be a U.S. Citizen
Must have an active DoD Secret Security Clearance
Must have 4 or more years of systems engineering experience
Must have strong knowledge of systems engineering frameworks such as DoDAF, UAF, or TOGAF
Must be proficient in modeling languages such as SysML or UML
Must have hands-on experience with MBSE tools such as DOORS, Cameo, or Rhapsody Desired Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in information technology or a STEM-related field
Compensation:
Salary Range: $100,000.00 - $135,000.00 annually. Final compensation is based on experience, education, and directly relevant certifications.
