Position Summary:
We are seeking a driven, experienced Operations Manager to lead service operations in our Power & Construction Equipment Division. This role is responsible for ensuring operational efficiency, fleet readiness, customer satisfaction, and team performance across both shop and field service environments.
This is a hands-on leadership position that oversees technician performance, rental equipment maintenance, DOT compliance, and service team development. Remote technician management and rental fleet logistics are key components of the role.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Accountability
Lead, manage, and hold self and team accountable (LMA) to Buckeye Power Sales' core values and standards.
Enforce company policies, safety protocols, and regulatory compliance (DOT/FMCSA, CDL).
Conduct regular team communication through meetings such as L-10s to promote alignment and execution.
Service Operations & Fleet Management
Schedule and manage all service work (planned/unplanned) for customer and company equipment.
Oversee remote and on-site technician workflow, dispatch, and labor utilization.
Maintain the rental fleet in peak operational condition, including compliance with DOT and inspection standards.
Monitor driver performance, fuel usage, and fleet costs for operational efficiency. Personnel Development
Recruit, hire, and onboard service team members; ensure a technical and cultural fit.
Provide performance feedback, coaching, and development plans to support growth and accountability.
Manage technician scheduling, time tracking, and overtime to optimize coverage and efficiency.
Logistics & Inventory Oversight
Maintain accurate parts and equipment inventory; coordinate purchases and inventory replenishment.
Oversee equipment deliveries and pick-ups; maintain organized and efficient warehouse and fleet facilities.
Ensure accuracy of rental unit location and status tracking.
Customer & Vendor Relations
Deliver responsive and effective customer service, including site visits when needed.
Cultivate strong relationships with vendor contacts to support parts availability, service standards, and warranty administration. Financial & Strategic Oversight
Review department financial performance, including profitability, labor costs, and parts margins.
Provide strategic input to improve service quality, operational efficiency, and department profitability.
Stay current on industry trends and product knowledge for power generation and construction equipment. What We Offer

Strong alignment with Buckeye Power Sales' core values and work ethic.
High School diploma or equivalent required; technical or post-secondary education preferred.
Minimum 2 years of fleet management experience, or 5 years of service/operations leadership experience.
Working knowledge of DOT/CDL compliance and regulatory requirements.
Basic understanding of diesel engines, hydraulics, generators, or construction equipment; or a willingness to learn.
Valid driver's license and ability to meet company insurability standards.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
Strong customer service acumen and conflict resolution abilities.
Proficient in Microsoft Office; capable of using data systems for service scheduling, time tracking, and reporting.
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize effectively.
Ability to work independently, travel to other company locations, and work flexible hours including overtime when needed.
Must pass a criminal background check and periodic drug screening.
Salary is based on skills and experience.
