Brief- overview and description of scope of responsibilities Columbus Torah Academy Girls High School (GHS) is a division of Columbus Torah Academy.

GHS is a relatively new program that Columbus Torah Academy started to meet the growing need of families who want a single gender High School for their daughters.

GHS has just completed its third year with an expected enrollment of 13 students for the next academic year, which is consistent with projected numbers.

We are looking for a highly motivated, aspiring educational leader to help us raise the school to the next academic level.

The Curriculum Coordinator will help the Director of the school with the continued advancement of the General Studies curriculum.

The CO’s primary focus will be curriculum mapping and working in collaboration with our teachers to help make sure they are following best practices in education.

Additionally, the candidate will teach daily.

Depending on teaching responsibilities the position has the potential to be a full time or close to full time position.

Curriculum Coordinator Responsibilities Daily and Ongoing Responsibilities: Work in collaboration with the Director of GHS to assist in the development of processes and procedures, curricula, and schedules for the General Studies education.

Oversee curriculum mapping of General Studies to make sure courses are meeting stated goals and objectives, including co-curricular activities.

Collaborate with other teachers, administrators, and specialists (where relevant) to develop curriculum, plan special projects, and solve problems Supervise and participate, at the direction of the Director of GHS, in the development, preparation and revision of curriculum for all programs of study in the GHS Keep abreast of developing trends in education and, as appropriate, share such information with faculty and the various school stakeholders.

Faculty Supervision: Conduct faculty meetings when necessary Coach General studies faculty on an ongoing basis in keeping with the school’s mission and in keeping with the school’s policies and procedures.

Partner with director to recruit excellent teachers for General studies Teaching Responsibilities Prepare and implement lessons to teach and inspire students with a differentiated approach within a welcoming and safe classroom environment Be a mature, calm, and thoughtful role model for the students Support all school wide policies and initiatives and help build enthusiasm for them Invest in the preparation of lessons, materials, and activities that are directly aligned with the course’s learning objectives Demonstrate a mastery of the course material, and present lessons using effective and updated pedagogical methods Maintain a productive classroom environment that is focused on the course content and uses class time effectively Use valid metrics to assess and keep track of the quality of learning and skill acquisition.

Work and communicate effectively with parents in formal and informal conferences and written reports Meet deadlines for student grades and other communications Attend individual principal-teacher meetings, staff meetings, professional development in-service days, and parent-teacher conferences Participate in and assist with extra-curricular programs that take place during regular teaching periods Cultivate warm, authentic, and positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues
