TITLE: Instructional Technology Resource Teacher

PRIMARY FUNCTION: To coordinate, organize, and facilitate the effective use of instructional technology in the school setting through teacher training and on-site assistance of technology integration.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Hold a valid Virginia Teaching License. Demonstrate knowledge of instructional technology integration through documented study and/or experience.

REPORTS TO: Building Principal

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide on sight assistance to the instructional staff in selection of technology resources and solutions.

Conduct staff development in the areas of technology integration.

Provide instructional support for the integration of the Virginia Computer Technology Standards.

Provide leadership in the coordination, development, and implementation of the school technology plan as it relates to instructional technology.

Model the integration of technology in all curriculum areas.

Evaluate the effectiveness of informational and instructional technology planning, program, and staff development.

Serve as a source of information on trends, research, applications, and effective practices related to technology planning, program, and staff development.

Provide technical advice and assistance to building-level users of technology.

Assist teachers with the development of curriculum materials and specific lesson plans that utilize technology.

Serve as a contact for monitoring school hardware and software problems.

Facilitates school participation in special activities that highlight instructional technology, i.e. Computer Learning Month

Attend meeting and staff development functions as needed.

Maintain knowledge of the JK-12 curriculum

Possess effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Possess and maintain knowledge of technology resources and systems.

Serve as co-coordinator of the school web page with the school web master.

Develop online access to division information and curricula.

Other duties as assigned by the building Principal.
