Summary. We are seeking experienced instructors to support technical training at the Naval Construction Training Center (NCTC) in Gulfport, MS. Instructors will deliver classroom and hands-on training to Navy Seabees, as well as Army and Air Force personnel, across a range of construction disciplines. Instruction is delivered in both traditional classroom settings and lab/project environments.
This role is essential to meeting military readiness and mission objectives through high-quality construction training.

Key Responsibilities:
Provide instruction for one or more of the following construction areas (courses include but are not limited to):
Builder Apprentice (BU-A)
Steelworker Apprentice/Advanced
Equipment Operation
Project Estimating, Planning, Execution
Electrical Systems, Welding, HVAC, Masonry, etc.
Conduct 8-hour training sessions, Monday through Friday; some extended hours or remediation may be required.
Use Navy-provided curriculum and training materials.
Maintain student safety and classroom discipline in accordance with military protocols.
Utilize audiovisual equipment and training aids (e.g., smart boards, projectors).
Participate in curriculum feedback and improvement processes.
Monitor, assess, and document student performance.
Minimum Qualifications:
Certified Journeyman in the field of instruction.
Possess NEC 9502 or 805A (Navy Instructor Certification) or service equivalent.
Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in construction trades or technical specialties (military, private sector, or both).
Proficient in operating training equipment and tools related to the course material.
Comfortable using computers for grading, data input, and lesson preparation.
Favorable background check.
Valid CPR certification required.
Physical Requirements:
Standing for long periods in classroom or outdoor lab environments.
Physical activity including lifting, climbing, bending, and working in active construction site settings.
Required to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when on site.
Work Environment:
Combination of indoor classrooms, labs, and outdoor training areas.
Occasional exposure to construction site conditions and physical exertion.
