Job Summary & Essential Functions: The following describes in general terms the purpose and scope of the position. The Senior Test Engineer will develop and maintain hardware and software test platforms along with supporting and overseeing production testing of all products.
· Provide technicians with circuit design and technical information on products.
· Assist technicians in product training
· Assist production technicians in setting test direction, setting priorities, mentor and determine required training
· Provide test station training to technicians
· Insures test station equipment is operational
· Manage test equipment maintenance and calibration including customer consigned equipment
· Schedule equipment calibration, in-house and consigned
· Develop preventive Maintenance procedures and schedules
· Provide design input for DFM and DFT on new and existing projects
· Provide test production quotes on test labor and time to test
· Provides interface between test and manufacturing on key issues, ie. capacity, test availability
· Verify and approve DAN’s and ECO’s
· Design test fixtures for new products both ATE and manual
· Develop new software applications for testing
· Create new Test Procedures
· Manage fixture fabrication
· Track test failure trends, perform root cause analysis and implement solution
· Researches and recommends test equipment needed for future company growth
· Support customer test stations by providing feedback on hardware and software design
· Assist customer in software maintenance and updating
· Provide customer engineering with failure analysis on prototype and pilot production runs

Qualifications - Minimum
· Reading schematics
· Circuit theory
· Experience in writing software, Qbasic, LabView
· 2 to 3 years experience in designing both Automated Test Equipment (ATE) and manual test platforms
Qualifications – Preferred
· PC Skills - MS Word, Excel, MS Projects, DOS
· Experience with GPIB equipment interface.
· Flexible—can respond to shifting priorities, work with varied personalities, change direction based on other’s input, deal effectively with crises, etc.
· Effective written communication skills for appropriate documentation such as reports and budgetary justifications to facilitate the decision-making processes, etc
Required Experience/Education/Training/Certifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must possess the outlined experience level, education, training, minimum years of experience, product or industry knowledge plus any certifications in order to be considered.
Qualifications - Minimum
· 2 year electronics degree with 5 years related work experience
Qualifications – Preferred
· 4 year Engineering degree
Work Environment and Safety Equipment Required: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of the job.
· This is an electronics field service and manufacturing environment that requires the use of safety devices including glasses with side shields and ESD equipment/clothing.
· Ability to work both as a team and independently as well as being flexible enough to prioritize and assist in other areas as needed.
· Hearing protection must be worn in designated areas.
· Fully enclosed shoes, leather construction, must be worn in all manufacturing areas.
