Material Control Specialist (093897)

Analyze logistics and supply chain processes to identify or recommend changes. Minimize on hand inventory and maximize logistics and material handling efficiency for Just in Time suppliers through continuous improvement. Manage parts packages logistics, establishing open communication with supply base. Communicate, forecast, and release data as required to the supply base. Conduct supplier workshops as required to support operations. Support coordination and implementation of engineering changes. Work with cross-functional teams to identify root cause and implement effective countermeasures. Oversee the delivery of expedite parts due to part shortage so that no line impact occurs. Drive root cause and countermeasure plans for BOM, inventory, or master data discrepancies and monitor effectiveness using PDCA planning cycle.

Requires at least 20% local travel.

5 years experience in the logistics, materials management or related areas in the automotive industry.

Must include some experience with:

- Supplier negotiations

- Kanban methodology including e-Kanban

- Implementing Just-in-time methodologies

- Part spec review (packaging, BOM (Bill of Materials), spec change, coordinate EO (Engineering Order )changes)

- Implementing PDCA methodologies (Plan, Do, Check, Act)

- Application of Lean manufacturing principles (production and logistics)

- Optimizing inventory levels

- Kaizen methodology

- PFEP methodology (Plan for every part)

- Daily production plan review

- Cost savings in CI events (Continuous Improvement)

- Order management for trials and production vehicles

- SAP MM and WMS modules

Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. Foreign equivalents accepted.
