Position Description
The Advanced Network Engineer is responsible for maintaining, configuring, and optimizing the MCTSSA Cyber Lab to support CSAs and system-of-systems testing. This role involves implementing network architectures that replicate operational environments, ensuring accurate and realistic testing conditions. The engineer would manage network configurations, including virtual local area networks (VLANs), firewalls, virtual private networks (VPNs), and software-defined networking (SDN), to enable flexible and scalable test environments. The engineer would also be responsible for integrating and maintaining high-fidelity system simulations, ensuring interoperability between physical and virtual assets. The engineer will collaborate with cyber assessors, system engineers, and program offices to tailor network configurations to specific test scenarios, supporting adversarial emulation and CSAs. This role requires deep expertise in networking protocols, system administration, and automation to streamline test set up and execution within the range.
Minimum Position Requirements:
Documented advanced network training and 4+ years of demonstrated network engineering or system administration experience.
Hold active Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification or equivalent.
Experience with VMware (vSphere, vCloud, etc.).
Experience with data storage technologies.
Experience with system administration of Microsoft Windows Server or Linux.
Experience with Microsoft Active Directory.
Experience implementing backup solutions and disaster recovery plans.
Experience with building and maintaining operating system images for deployment.
Experience with security boundary technologies (firewalls, IDS/IPS, etc.).
Experience with a scripting languages (Perl, Python, PowerShell, Bash, etc.).
