Guidance Administrative Assistant
Northern High School
Reports To: Building Principal
Pay Grade: Grade 4, step 1 – starting at $18.24 per hour
Schedule: 8 hours per day / 40 hours per week / 42-week position
Job Summary: To contribute to the efficient operation of the school and to create and maintain good public relations with students, parents, community and staff by providing administrative support to the counseling office.
Qualifications:
High school graduate
Excellent organizational and customer service skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Previous secretarial or administrative experience preferred
Knowledge of Google Suite, Microsoft, and PowerSchool products preferred
Essential Job Functions:
Utilize technology to efficiently perform duties
Work independently with little to no supervision
Multi-task on various projects
Assist students, staff and families as needed in a positive manner
Greet parents and students as needed
Assist with general office functions as needed
Assist with maintenance of inventories, reports, logs, etc.
Efficient and effective oral and written communication skills
Consistent and reliable attendance
Perform other duties as assigned
Work Environment:
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. Work will be performed both indoors and outdoors.
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, jump, crouch, or crawl, talk, hear (in a quiet or noisy environment). The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and ability to adjust/focus. Mental Functions:
