Full-Stack Engineer (Backend Focused)

What You'll Do

Develop and maintain robust backend systems and web applications, primarily using Python (with some Java).

Design and implement RESTful APIs and integrate third-party services.

Develop and maintain web applications using using React.

Build and manage data pipelines and workflows to process, transform, and serve large volumes of cloud cost and usage data.

Ensure performance, reliability, and security of backend services, data pipelines, and databases.

Contribute to containerized deployments (Docker, Kubernetes) and work with AWS cloud infrastructure.

Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following best practices and coding standards.

Debug, test, and participate in code reviews to maintain high engineering standards.

Bring ideas to the table — we value fresh perspectives to improve architecture, data processing efficiency, and developer experience.

What We're Looking For

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.

1–3 years of professional experience in software development and/or data engineering.

Solid programming skills in Python (and ideally some exposure to Java).

Hands-on experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL) and search engines (Elasticsearch).

Basic Understanding of Front End Technologies like HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and modern frameworks like React.

Experience with Databases: SQL (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (e.g., Elasticsearch).

Experience designing, building, and maintaining ETL pipelines or other data processing systems.

Familiarity with modern cloud platforms — AWS experience is a big plus.

Comfortable working with containers and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes).

Strong problem-solving mindset — you enjoy tackling tricky bugs, scaling challenges, and designing for performance.

Eager to learn, grow, and thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Bonus Points

Familiarity with data workflow orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow, Prefect) — nice but not required.

Exposure to DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.

Experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation).

Knowledge of monitoring tools like Datadog, Grafana, or Sentry.

Location:

This role is onsite, 5 days a week, at our NYC office. Remote work is not available for this position.
