Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Structural Engineer with 4–8 years of experience to join our growing engineering team. The ideal candidate will have experience in foundation design, and design of steel support structures for industrial equipment. This role requires a working knowledge of applicable structural design codes and standards including AISC 360 and ASCE 7-22. A Professional Engineer (P.E.) license is preferred, but candidates who are eligible and committed to obtaining licensure within one year will be considered.
Responsibilities:
Perform structural analysis and design of steel structures, foundations, and support systems for industrial facilities and heavy equipment.
Prepare and review design calculations, construction drawings, and specifications in accordance with applicable codes and standards.
Coordinate with project teams, including civil, mechanical, and electrical disciplines to ensure cohesive and integrated designs.
Conduct site visits for field verification, inspection support, and to provide construction phase engineering services, as needed.
Review vendor data, submittals, and shop drawings for conformance with project requirements.
Mentor junior engineers and contribute to internal knowledge-sharing initiatives.
Maintain awareness of industry best practices and changes to relevant codes and standards.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
4–8 years of relevant structural engineering experience.
P.E. license or ability to obtain licensure within 12 months of hire.
Knowledge of geotechnical reports and integration of soil data into structural design.
Experience designing foundations for heavy industrial equipment or process systems.
Proficiency in conducting structural analysis and using relevant software tools, e.g., RISA.
Proficiency with AutoCAD, and experience with 3D modeling tools such as SolidWorks is a plus.
Solid understanding of structural codes and standards including AISC 360, ASCE 7-22, ACI 318, and IBC.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Preferred Experience:
Experience in industrial project environments (e.g., manufacturing, energy, or material handling sectors).
Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Civil or Structural Engineering.
