GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY

The Demolition Foreman will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the activities of workers engaged in demolition projects. This includes planning, organizing, and directing all demolition activities on site to ensure safety, efficiency, and compliance with all regulations and company policies. The Demolition Foreman will also be responsible for maintaining project schedules, managing resources, and communicating effectively with project stakeholders. Their expertise in demolition processes, techniques, and safety protocols will be instrumental in ensuring project success within our specialized division. The Demolition Foreman must possess a strong knowledge of demolition methods, safety regulations, and adhere to Hillen’s safety standards and protocols.

MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Supervise and coordinate the activities of demolition workers, including assigning tasks and monitoring work performance.

Ensure all demolition activities comply with safety regulations and company policies.

Plan and organize demolition projects, including scheduling, resource allocation, and material procurement.

Conduct site inspections to identify potential hazards and implement appropriate safety measures.

Train and mentor crew members on proper demolition techniques and safety practices.

Maintain project documentation, including daily reports, time sheets, and safety records.

Communicate effectively with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure project goals are met.

Operate and maintain demolition equipment and machinery, ensuring they are used safely and efficiently.

Resolve any issues or conflicts that arise on the job site promptly and effectively.

Ensure all debris is removed and disposed of in compliance with environmental regulations.

REQUIRED JOB SKILLS & ABILITIES:

Proficient in reading and interpreting construction plans and specifications.

Strong mathematical and analytical skills for accurate cost calculations.

Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

Effective communication and presentation skills.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.

A strong understanding and proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office programs.

High level of awareness, enabling them to proactively anticipate, adapt to, and address complex and dynamic challenges.

EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in construction or demolition is preferred.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in the demolition industry, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.

Strong knowledge of demolition processes, techniques, and safety protocols.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction documents.

Excellent leadership and team management skills.

Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.

Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work in physically demanding conditions and handle heavy equipment.

Valid driver’s license and clean driving record; CDL is a plus.

OSHA certification or other relevant safety training is preferred.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT & CONDITIONS:

Work is primarily outdoors and may involve exposure to various weather conditions.

Physical demands include lifting, carrying, and operating heavy machinery and equipment.

May require working at heights or in confined spaces.

Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed to meet project deadlines.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Knowledge of construction practices, methods, materials, environmental regulations, and sustainability practices within the Abatement division.

Proficiency in construction estimating software and tools, with a focus on environmental considerations.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze project requirements, assess risks, and develop effective solutions.

Organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet project deadlines within the Abatement Division.

Proficient in project management software for scheduling, budgeting, and reporting.

Effective communication with team, clients, and subcontractors.

Attention to detail to ensure accurate and comprehensive estimates.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team.

Customer service skills for client interactions.
