Position Overview:

XSITE is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented AI/ML Engineer to join our San Diego team full-time. This role offers the opportunity to support the Department of Defense by developing AI and ML tools, along with working to create tools for internal business development. These projects will follow an agile methodology by organizing work into “sprints”, with the scope for contract work decided by the Government, in order to adjust to changing circumstances or to capitalize on new opportunities discovered during the project.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and implement AI/ML models for government and internal use

Work with large datasets to preprocess and clean data

Optimize and fine-tune AI/ML models for performance, accuracy, and scalability

Develop and maintain documentation, testing procedures, and monitoring strategies for deployed applications

Leverage DevSecOps for all software development

Work as part of a contractor team alongside a broader team of government and contract staff

Stay up-to-date with the latest AI/ML trends, tools, and best practices

Performs other related duties as assigned by management

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Data Science, Mathematics, or a related field

1+ years of experience in developing AI applications

2+ years of experience with Python and popular ML frameworks, such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or Scikit-learn (can include academic experience)

2+ years of experience with data manipulation and visualization libraries, such as Pandas, NumPy, Matplotlib, and Seaborn (can include academic experience)

2+ years of experience with VCS, such as Git (can include academic experience)

Strong understanding of fundamental AI and machine learning principles

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail

Excellent communication and collaboration skills, both written and verbal

Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

U.S. Citizenship (required for this role)

Ability to obtain and maintain a TOP SECRET security clearance and willingness to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA)

Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s degree in computer science, Data Science, Mathematics, or a related field

3+ years of experience in developing AI applications

Experience deploying and maintaining applications on a company server or cloud environment

Experience with UI development (HTML, Javascript, CSS, Flask, Streamlit)

Experience with SQL or other relational databases

Experience working in an agile development environment

Experience working with the federal government, either as a government civilian or a contractor

Active U.S. SECRET or TOP SECRET Clearance
