DQD, LLC is seeking an experienced Controller to lead our Accounting Department. This high-level leadership role is ideal for a strategic, hands-on financial professional with strong construction or demolition accounting experience. You’ll partner with executive leadership, guide a small accounting team, and ensure the accuracy and integrity of our financial operations.

Compensation will be a base salary of $125,000 annually with a 10-20% bonus structure if EBIDA is met.

Position Summary

As Controller, you will lead our accounting team, manage the full-cycle accounting operations, ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, and support the organization in strategic decision-making. This position requires an on-site hands-on leader who can balance detailed accounting work with high-level financial analysis and compliance responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and develop a team of 3+ accounting professionals

Oversee all daily accounting operations: AP, AR, payroll, and general ledger

Manage monthly closings and produce timely, GAAP-compliant financial reports

Prepare WIP schedules, job cost analysis, and balance sheet reconciliations

Support audits (financial, 401(k), insurance); ensure ongoing tax compliance

Collaborate with Estimators and Project Managers on budgeting, forecasting, and profitability

Maintain accurate project setups and monitor licensing/tax requirements across jurisdictions

Improve internal controls, systems, and processes

Participate in strategic planning and cross-departmental leadership initiatives

Serve as backup support to others in the department as needed

What We’re Looking For

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

CPA required; CCIFP or CMA a plus

5+ years in progressive accounting roles, preferably in construction

Strong knowledge of job costing, WIP schedules, and AZ TPT reporting

Proficiency with Sage 300 CRE and advanced Excel skills

High attention to detail with a hands-on, proactive approach

Proven leadership and strong communication skills
