Helper Position

A Helper is responsible for assisting Drivers with obtaining clean products for their routes, loading and unloading fleet trucks, organizing the shelves in the service department, and assisting Drivers making product deliveries to our customers.

This position requires employees to work both inside Arway’s home location and at times out on route with Drivers. Determination for where a Helper is needed will be decided by the Service Department and Arway Management.

Duties include (but are not limited to):

Familiarizing oneself with all available products

Stocking Service Department shelves with clean product

Putting together clean product for Driver’s routes

Assisting Drivers with loading and unloading trucks with clean product

Assisting Drivers with making deliveries

Assisting Drivers with collecting soiled product from customers

Assisting Drivers with unloading soiled product from trucks

Moving rolling carts weighing up to 250 pounds

Lifting bags of product weighing up to 50 pounds

Lifting wrapped and bundled product weighing up to 50 pounds

Climbing up and down from the back of delivery trucks

Helpers report directly to the Service department and ultimately Management.

As this position requires employees to go out on route on (and load/unload) fleet vehicles, it falls under the purview of the Teamsters Local 107. The shop steward and HR can provide information about membership.

Full-time
