Job Description
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
As a hybrid Network Engineer, you’ll split your time between remote work and on-site support at corporate offices in Las Vegas. Your day will involve managing change and incident tickets primarily through ServiceNow, with some collaboration via Teams and email. You’ll be responsible for both project-based tasks and operational support, including firewall configurations, troubleshooting, and wireless network optimization. You’ll also contribute to customer deployments, assist with high-tech debt remediation, and support internal teams. Engineers are expected to take initiative, design and implement network solutions, and not just follow pre-defined instructions.
Must-Haves:
Strong experience with Fortinet firewalls and switching, including FortiGate and FortiManager.
Proficiency with Cisco networking technologies, including Catalyst and Nexus platforms.
Hands-on wireless networking experience, including wireless surveys, tuning, and saturation analysis (vendor-agnostic, but Cisco and Fortinet preferred).
Solid understanding of network protocols and architecture, with the ability to scope and design solutions independently.
Operational experience with firewall changes, troubleshooting, and navigating change approval processes and maintenance windows.
Nice-to-Haves:
Experience in zero-trust environments using FortiManager.
Background in customer deployments and refresh projects, especially migrating to Fortinet solutions.
Prior exposure to tools like F5, FireMon, or Netscout for network analytics and visibility.
Familiarity with Palo Alto firewalls and their integration into enterprise environments.
