Job Summary:

To provide PFC customers with high quality, delicious, and nutritious food with friendly, accurate, consistent, and efficient service to every customer. Perform a supervisory role within the department under the direction of the Department Manager. Provide ongoing leadership to the department through example and training while implementing judgment and acting as situations require with the goal of providing the highest level of service to our customers.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide excellent customer service to PFC staff and customers.

Maintain working knowledge of Deli recipes and prepared foods.

Ensure the deli case is clean, stocked, rotated, garnished, and ensure proper signage used and appealing.

Oversee the receipt of orders and verify invoice accuracy and product quality.

Ensure proper product rotation.

Provide orientation and training for all deli counter staff.

Assist with inventory of items.

Direct deli staff to ensure an adequate supply and selection of deli salads, entrees, home meal replacements, hot case foods, soups, sandwiches, and bakery items.

Ensure all staff activities and operations are compliant with health code guidelines.

Schedule deli staff according to weekly labor budget.

In coordination with the Deli Manager, hire qualified deli staff, conduct staff evaluations, and work to develop performance standards.

Ensure all displays are fully stocked, fronted, faced, and properly rotated. Set stocking priorities for staff.

Ensure proper signage for all items in each area in the deli.

Preferred (1) year of experience in food service with supervision of staff

Respectful communication

Commitment to providing excellent customer service

Strong communication and listening skills

Strong organizational skills

Requirements:

Qualified candidates must be able to perform the essential functions of the position satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodation, including the ability to safely lift 45 lbs., to handle knives and other cutting equipment, work in a wet and cold environment, stand/walk for the duration of the shift, engage in the following motions: bending, twisting, squatting and reaching, and work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
