Principle Accountabilities

Supplier development and selection both national and international

Develops/manages the major suppliers under them using metrics or supplier scorecard (Quality PPM,Lead-time, capacity, inventory and YOY cost improvement)

Using Sales and Operations Planning and good communication to ensure on time delivery to manufacturing and distribution for our customers

Maintains updated parts and vendor master along with any other relevant database for the items they are responsible

Source parts and materials, focusing on cost, availability, dependability, quality, delivery, and other factors

Communicates/elevates issues as need to stakeholders.

Work with vendors to resolve any gap in availability, capacity, quality, and cost.

Supports New Product Development Other projects as assigned

Managing the Purchase Order process

Gather and analyze data to improve the department

Prepare bid documents and evaluate proposals for applicable orders

Negotiate preferred pricing, terms, and delivery with vendors

Build strong, mutually beneficial relationships with suppliers

Coordinate with Quality Assurance to resolve supplier quality issues, ensuring timely and effective containment and long-term resolution of each concern

Work with design and manufacturing to forecast requirements and implement purchasing contracts reflective of those requirements

Proactively seek improved quality and pricing beneficial to the company.

Generate purchasing documentation and order parts and materials

Ensure manufacturing has all parts and components when needed

Return incorrect or defective goods

Minimize overstocks, obsolete material, and returns

Related tasks as requested by supervisor

Essential Skills and Experience

Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; or five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience with ERP system required (preferably Global Shop)

Expereince purchasing Ink, Varnish, Press Supplies, strongly perfered.

High level of accuracy and attention to detail

Ability to proactively plan for the site's material needs by looking at trends and forecasts.

Ability to effectively execute on decisions in a fast-paced environment

Ability to multi-task and adapt and manage to changing priorities in a dynamic business environment

2+ years of manufacturing strongly preferred.

Intermediate or higher Excel, Access, and Word

Excellent written and oral communication skills required.

Ability to work in a timely fashion.

Physical Demands:

Use hands to feel, reach with arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch under 1/3 of the time

Stand and walk less than 1/3 of the time

Sit and talk over 2/3 of the time

Will be required to lift up to 50 pounds less than 1/3 of the time

Must have the ability to work with up close vision using the computer and preparing reports and metrics.
