Job Description

Our client, a leading name in the Consumer Packaged Goods industry, is seeking a Staff Accountant for a 5–6 month contract to support their Finance & Accounting team during a critical period. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented, self-motivated accounting professional who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage a 10-day monthly close, encompassing journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis, supporting the Controller.

Ensure timely and accurate balance sheet reconciliations, proactively resolving discrepancies.

Collaborate cross-functionally to enhance cost accuracy and operational alignment.

Maintain detailed schedules for revenue recognition, rebates, and trade allowances.

Analyze trade spend, promotional accruals, and customer deductions to drive insights.

Prepare GAAP-compliant monthly financial statements, dashboards, and management reports.

Document and optimize internal controls, identifying and recommending process improvements.

Support audits, budgeting, forecasting, and various ad hoc financial analyses.

Partner with AP and AR teams for accurate accounting treatment and reporting.

Who We’re Looking For:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field

5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a CPG or manufacturing environment

Strong understanding of GAAP

Advanced Excel skills; ERP experience preferred (SAP, NetSuite, etc.)

Excellent organizational, communication, and time-management skills
