Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Lead Java Engineer to spearhead the development of scalable, high-performing applications. This long-term contract position is ideal for a detail-oriented individual with deep expertise in Java, multi-threading, and the Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana (ELK) stack. The role requires strong leadership, technical skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams, including offshore developers. This position is based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Responsibilities:

• Provide technical leadership by overseeing software architecture, coding standards, and deployment strategies.

• Develop, optimize, and maintain high-quality Java applications with a focus on multi-threading and performance.

• Implement and manage monitoring systems using the Elasticsearch, Logstash, and Kibana (ELK) stack.

• Collaborate with offshore development teams to align on project deliverables and ensure quality execution.

• Take ownership of projects by identifying areas for improvement, troubleshooting issues, and delivering solutions.

• Utilize Java-based front-end frameworks, such as Spring Boot with UI, to enhance application functionality.

• Design and deploy scalable applications in cloud environments, leveraging cloud services for secure architecture.

• Partner with DevOps, QA, and product teams to ensure system reliability and scalability.

• Perform performance tuning and optimize resource management for multi-threaded operations.

• Contribute to cross-functional planning and execution to meet project deadlines and goals.• Minimum of 5 years of experience in Java software development, with a strong grasp of multi-threading and concurrency.

• Hands-on expertise with the Elasticsearch, Logstash, and Kibana (ELK) stack.

• Proficiency in cloud environments, including experience with services like EC2, S3, and Lambda.

• Proven ability to manage and mentor offshore development teams effectively.

• Familiarity with Java-based front-end frameworks, such as Spring Boot with UI.

• Strong problem-solving skills and an ownership mentality to drive projects independently.

• Experience with tools like Atlassian Jira for bug tracking and Agile Scrum development methodologies.

• Knowledge of API development, client-side scripting, and cross-platform compatibility.
