We are looking for an experienced Assistant Controller to join our clients team near Upper Marlboro, Maryland. In this role, you will oversee critical financial operations, including reporting, compliance, and process optimization. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership skills and a detail-oriented approach to managing accounting workflows and ensuring the accuracy of financial data.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements with precision.
• Manage the general ledger, ensuring accurate account reconciliations and maintenance.
• Conduct monthly variance analyses comparing forecasts to actual results.
• Generate weekly and monthly financial reports to support management decision-making.
• Assist in developing budgets and financial forecasts to align with organizational goals.
• Lead and supervise the accounting team, including staff accountants and benefits administrators.
• Coordinate reporting requirements for the parent company, ensuring timely submission of all data.
• Identify opportunities for improving processes and efficiencies within accounting operations.
• Support compliance efforts by maintaining internal controls and preparing audit documentation.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• A minimum of 7 years of progressive accounting experience.
• Proven expertise in construction, infrastructure, or telecommunications industries.
• Strong understanding of job costing principles and financial reporting.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills paired with clear communication abilities.
• Experience managing multi-entity or multi-project financial operations is preferred.
