Job Description

We are looking for an experienced finance leader to join our team as the Controller where you will oversee and manage essential financial operations in our organization based in Jessup, Maryland area. This role involves leading monthly financial close processes, supervising cash flow management, and ensuring accuracy in accounts payable and receivable. The ideal candidate will also play a pivotal role in financial reporting, compliance, cash flows, and mentoring the accounting team while contributing to the company’s overall financial strategy. This position is hybrid, 2-3 days per week on site.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee monthly financial close processes and ensure accurate reconciliation of key accounts.

• Manage cash flow activities, including daily positioning and regular reconciliations.

• Supervise invoicing processes and maintain accuracy in accounts payable and receivable.

• Prepare and analyze financial statements, revenue trends, and performance metrics.

• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements by coordinating with insurance providers and other stakeholders.

• Generate and present detailed month-end financial reports to senior leadership.

• Strengthen internal controls and enhance financial systems to maintain data integrity.

• Collaborate with IT and operations teams to support system integrations and cybersecurity initiatives.

• Mentor and guide accounting staff, ensuring their growth and daily efficiency.

• Assist with external audits, tax filings, and other corporate financial obligations.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required; advanced degrees or certifications are preferred.

• Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and familiarity with other financial systems is a strong advantage.

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Power BI.

• Proven ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and integrity.

• Excellent attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

• Strong analytical skills to support financial decision-making and business growth.

• Effective leadership abilities with experience managing and mentoring accounting teams.
