Title: Warehouse and Material Handling Staff - Main Assembly
Hours: 1st Shift- 7:30am-3:30pm
Location: Charlotte, NC
Pay Rate: $45k
Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Material Handler to join our team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The primary responsibility of this role is to handle, move, load, and unload heavy metal materials using manual methods and material handling equipment such as forklifts and overhead cranes. The ideal candidate will have experience working in an industrial setting and demonstrate strong attention to detail, teamwork, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and organized work area.
Key Responsibilities:
Safely handle, move, load, and unload heavy materials using forklifts, overhead cranes, tow motors, and manual methods.
Receive and verify raw materials against packing slips; coordinate with shipping/receiving for processing.
Count, weigh, sort, pack, and unpack materials; label and organize parts per work orders and build plans.
Transport parts and materials to/from suppliers using company vehicles; schedule pickups and deliveries efficiently.
Operate rigging and hoisting equipment to move materials within the facility following safety protocols.
Maintain organized inventory, document material usage, and support regular physical inventory counts.
Monitor and manage consumable inventory; submit weekly re-order lists for approval.
Conduct pre-use inspections of handling equipment and participate in safety meetings; comply with OSHA standards.
Qualifications & Experience:
A minimum of 2 years of equivalent work experience in a large/heavy custom steel fabrication environment.
Certificate in Crane and Forklift operation.
Previous experience working within an ISO9001 environment is preferred.
Should be able to lift between 50-75lbs
