Machine Operator/Slicer

Job Description Job purpose The primary responsibility for Machine Operator/Slicer is to attend machines while the machines slice parts.

The operator is responsible for maximizing the quantity of parts while maintaining the quality of parts.

Duties and responsibilitiesInstalls proper oils and coolants.Adjusts machines accordingly for quality and quantity.Removes swarfs and old coolants from machine and properly disposes of them.Changes machine oils, coolant and filters.Cleans machine and coolant tanks when necessary.Maintains tooling to perform at maximum efficiency.Maintains proper quality and quantities of manufactured materials.Operate multiple slicing machines at a time.Review Operation Sheet to assure all previous operations have been satisfactorily completed.Setup and operate the equipment in a safe and productive manner.Maintain part and identification during processing.Verify completed operations match blue printsOther duties as assigned QualificationsHigh School Diploma/GEDAble to read blueprints GD&T Training & UnderstandingAble to use and understand standard and metric measuring systems.Use of standard measuring tools.Able to work individually and in a team environment.Statistical Process Control (SPC) Experience beneficial.

Working conditionsMay be exposed to industrial oils, toner, coolants, solvents, lubricants, adhesive and other chemicals.

NOTE: All safety precautions will be used.Plant wide climate control and air conditioningCould work in areas with excessive noise.

NOTE: Ear protection available.

Physical requirementsCould require intermittent and long periods of sitting and/or standing.Required to do repetitive work.Periodic lifting of materials not to exceed 50 pounds.
